Position Summary

While working as a production helper you will be tasked with providing aid to the production staff. You will be responsible for overall production administration which includes but is not limited to assisting with performing the operational functions of the department, ensuring a solid production process. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in all departments of production as needed
  • Assist in facilities related responsibilities to ensure production runs smoothly
  • Move Digital Output items to the bindery department
  • Move all processed products to the bindery department for cutting
  • Read and assess bindery clipboards
  • Assess the packaging department's workload and assist as needed
  • Asses the mailing department's workload and assist as needed
  • Update the production process database as necessary
  • Aid in driver schedules
  • Address delivery issues with the various shops
  • Attend production meetings
  • Attending daily, company-wide staff meetings
  • Assess supply orders and take action
  • Answer questions regarding paper, shipping, delivery for other shops
  • Evaluate packaging/shipping deadlines
  • Finish supply orders
  • Contact drivers if they have not yet returned
  • Evaluate the next day's workload

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Computer Skills

Performing this job successfully requires that an individual have a concrete understanding of computers, email, and data entry especially a hands-on familiarity with databases, and Microsoft Office

Other Qualifications

  • Must be able to pass a background check

    • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Additionally, the associate is frequently required to walk; sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently life and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally move and/or lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Work environment
    • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, and moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; consisting of telephones, computers, and printers operating.
