Position Summary

While working as a human resources intern, you will be tasked with assisting the human resources department in whatever capacity necessary. You will be responsible for working with the HR team to help in the recruiting process of candidates, prepare essential recruiting paperwork, and complete other administrative HR tasks. The person in this position assists with performing the operational functions of the department, ensuring that the human resources department can be successful with all tasks.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Contact candidates as advised by your manager
  • Complete regular administrative tasks as they relate to general HR functions and recruiting needs
  • Conduct phone screens to help with the screening process and assess potential next steps for candidates on an as needed basis
  • Schedule interviews for candidates and prepare interview paperwork for the hiring managers
  • Utilize job boards, community contacts, and college campuses to advertise open positions and attract the most qualified candidates
  • Attend hiring fairs and networking events to meet potential candidates
  • Interact with the HR team as well as hiring managers to determine if the candidate is the best fit for the job
  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner to attract the most qualified applicants
  • Attend weekly staff meetings
  • Assist with monthly employment events held at Strategic Factory and continuously update and communicate with attendees
  • Follow up with candidates via phone and email
  • Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Nonessential Duties and Responsibilities

Work on job assignments in other departments as instructed.

Qualifications

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Human Resources or a related field
  • Ability to write effective correspondence to customer and coworkers
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Vision abilities required by this job include being able to see clearly at 20 inches or less, distinguish colors, and adjust focus
  • Mathematical Abilities required by this job include reading a ruler, calculating simple costs, and other basic mathematical skills

The successful candidate will be trained and based in our Owings Mills Headquarters, Strategic Factory. The position is non-exempt and the hours are Monday through Friday with flexibility based on student schedule.
