The Print Production Scheduler/Admin works closely with production management to establish and drive a schedule that maximizes efficiency, resources, and capacity to meet customer requirements and deadlines in a cost-effective manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review, record and traffic all work orders submitted to production for offset and digital print jobs plus prepress, finishing, mailing and shipping
- Prepare daily WIP and production management reports, and distribute as needed
- Provide administrative support to the Production Management team as needed
- Attend project-specific and production management meetings as needed and provide guidance on potential scheduling issues
- Provide timely feedback to Sales and Service team concerning job problems or delays that may affect the delivery date
- Partner with Purchasing to monitor material delays to ensure availability of approved materials required to support the manufacturing requirements based on the schedule
- Monitor status of work in progress, material availability and any proactively address potential scheduling problems
- Support production team members in troubleshooting when issues or questions arise
Qualifications:
- 3+ years within a print production environment, preferably with print scheduling, production management, planning or estimating experience
- Strong working knowledge of all aspects of offset and digital print, mailing and bindery
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Outstanding planning and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated innovation, creativity and decision-making abilities
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
