Position Summary

While working as a Purchasing Specialist, you will be tasked with fulfilling duties and performing tasks related to maintaining relationships with vendors, compiling purchasing data in our ERP system, as well as updating purchasing spreadsheets. The person in this position assists with the Purchasing department by creating long-lasting relationships with vendors in a professional manner and maintaining the accuracy of the company's financial information.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain resources and tools needed to place and track accurate orders such as a pricing sheets, purchase orders, and product order tracking
  • Maintain knowledge of vendors and their respective products, pricing, and procedures
  • Compile purchasing data and input it into the ERP (Enterprising Resource Planning) system
  • Collaborate with multiple departments on supply needs and purchase supplies, as needed
  • Create and maintain lasting relationships with vendors
  • Ability to prioritize workflow to maintain customer deadlines and provide relevant information internally to colleagues
  • Conduct industry research to confirm best prices, quality products, and shipping time frames
  • Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned

Nonessential Duties and Responsibilities

Work on job assignments in other departments as instructed.

  • Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma is preferred

  • Computer Skills

Performing this job successfully requires that an individual have a solid understanding of computers, data entry, internet searches, the Microsoft Office suite and email applications.

    • Ability to pass a background check
    • Vision abilities required by this job include being able to see clearly at 20 inches or less, distinguish colors, and adjust focus

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Physical demands
    • While performing the duties of this job, one is regularly required to sit at a desk and answer phones and work on computer desktops. Occasional standing and walking to copiers, printers, and scanners is required. The associate must occasionally lift and /or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Work environment
    • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to noise typical of an office environment such as printers, computers, and phones operating.
