Position Summary
While working as a Prepress Technician, you will be tasked with fulfilling duties and performing tasks related to identifying job sheet errors, producing proofing sheets and preparing artwork to be printed. The person in this position assists with the Prepress department by ensuring all print jobs are accurate and maintain internal quality control standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare artwork and database files for offset and digital printing

Determine page layout by accounting for folds, trims, bleeds, gripper, and adding color bars as needed
-
Identify job sheet errors and communicate with multiple departments on how to resolve errors
-
Produce a proofing sheet and replica file for multiple proofing sessions
-
Manage job times and specifications by inputting them into the ERP system
-
Interact with the Prepress Workflow Automation Software to determine design errors
-
Knowledgeable with Adobe suite and Printing processes
-
Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance
-
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree preferred in Digital arts or related fields such as Graphic Design
-
Prior experience or training in the Print Industry
-
Formatting and proofing of text and images submitted by both customers and in-house designers into a finished product for production

Producing and inspecting plates as needed
-
Liaising with production staff to ensure designed materials will flow smoothly through the production process
-
Rapid turn-around times on a wide variety of design jobs from a large base of clients

Excellent Computer Skills

Ability to write effective correspondence to customers and coworkers
-
Vision abilities required by this job include being able to see clearly at 20 inches or less, distinguish colors, and adjust focus

Mathematical abilities required by this job include reading a ruler, calculating simple costs, and other basic mathematical skills

Strong attention to detail

Strong written and verbal communication skills
